FAQs

ART PRINTS

Are Speckls of Light art prints made in the UK?

Yes! All art prints are designed, manufactured and printed in London, UK.

What are the available sizes?

Our art prints are available in A4 (21.0 x 29.7cm) and A3 (29.7 x 42.0cm) sizes. Due to the design and paper qualities some art prints are only available in A4 size.

We hope to offer A2 size prints in the future.

What paper do you use?

We use two different types of paper for our art prints.

Recycled card is made from FSC certified materials. It contains 5% hemp fibres, 40% recycled material and 55% environmentally friendly fibres.

Bamboo paper is from Hahnemühle Natural Line and is made from 90% bamboo fibres and 10% cotton. Bamboo is acid and lignum free, making it extremely age resistant.

For the original art pieces we use a variety of different paper from various small companies. Most of it is recycled and handmade. We also aim to start making our own handmade paper to use for our art pieces.

What ink do you use for your art prints?

We are currently using the professional LUCIA PRO ink range by Canon. They provide the best quality and longevity in your art prints.

Sadly, they are not vegan and potentially contain plastic.

Are print colours accurate?

We tried our best to give you the truest accurate representation of the art prints in real life. Each screen is different which is why the colours might look slightly different then what you have seen on our online shop.

We made sure you are able to see multiple photographs of each art print before making a purchase, be it in our online shop or on our Instagram @specklsoflight to get the best idea.

Do the prints come framed?

Currently all art prints come unframed. We hope to offer them in the future.

Do you do original art?

Yes! 2023 is the year we are releasing our first original art collection.

Do you do custom/freelance work?

We currently do not offer custom or freelance work but we are always happy to discuss your ideas and hear what you would like to see in our future collections. Please contact us hello@specklsoflight.com. We could also potentially customise the items listed for sale in our online store depending on your ideas and whether they match the Speckls of Light aesthetic.

PACKAGING

How do you ship your art prints?

We have two different types of packaging for A3 and A4 size art prints. Both are 100% recyclable and home compostable, are printed with alternative inks and free from plastic. Our boxes for A3 art prints are also biodegradable and made with renewable energy.

Is Speckls of Light Plastic Free?

We do not use plastic on our packaging and everything you receive your art prints in can be recycled together including the box, envelope, stickers, tissue, tape, etc.

The only plastic that is in our business is one that we receive from ordering our stock. We order custom stock items from various small businesses and the majority of them also do not use plastic in their packaging. Some of our stock does come with minimal plastic packaging and we are working on getting rid of that in the next couple years.

Can the packaging be recycled?

Yes! We are very proud to say that everything your art print is wrapped in is fully recyclable. You can recycle everything as cardboard/paper from the box/envelope to the stickers, tape, tissue and even the shipping label.

 BRAND ETHOS

How sustainable is your brand?

We use environmentally friendly paper for our art prints and 100% recyclable packaging that is plastic free.

We like to reuse everything that comes into our studio through stock or otherwise. Sadly some companies do use plastic to package their supplies which is why we can’t be called a plastic free company just yet.

Note that the ink used for our art prints is not plastic free or vegan. Some of the paint used for original art pieces sadly also contain animal by products or plastic.

Every piece of paper that comes through our studio gets recycled or stored to be made into handmade paper by us.

We donate to important projects that plant trees via the Ecologi website, visit our profile http://www.ecologi.com/specklsoflight.

Do you donate to charity?

Yes, we donate 20% of all sales to various charities. We are also working on charitable partnerships for our future collections.

If you know a trusted charity that needs help, please email us about it hello@specklsoflight.com.

Is Speckls of Light a Certified B Corporation?

No. However, holding B Corp certification is our future goal and we are working on gaining it within the next 10 years.

What is your Ethos?

Our ethos is to spread goodness one speckle at a time.

We might be a small brand but we strongly believe we can make positive change in the world and in our personal lives.

As a company we want to be as honest and as transparent as possible. We want to share beautiful art with you, to create an inviting online community and to contribute to society through charity work.

Most importantly, we aren’t here to hustle every day. We believe you have to work hard towards your dreams but it should never come at the expense of living your life or sacrificing your mental health.

We are not perfect but we are cheesy enough to dream big and go for the stars.
