We believe that as a business it's our own responsibility to be as sustainable as possible in everything we do, from sourcing packaging to working with local suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint. Our materials and process aim to be as eco-friendly as possible.
MATERIALS
Compostable
Compostable packaging is typically made from renewable resources such as trees, sugar cane and corn, to name a few.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Compostable packaging can be added to your home compost bin or communal compost site, and help with the carbon-nitrogen ratio, in addition to not ending up in landfills!
TAKING THE RIGHT ACTION
If compostable packaging isn’t added to compost bins, it can sometimes end up going to landfills or places where it’s less effective to break down. If you don’t have a compost bin at home, be sure to search for local alternatives where your packaging can be put to good use!
Our mailer boxes, tissue paper, thank you cards, mailer tape, and kraft mailer envelopes are 100% home compostable! What’s better yet, you can re-use our water activated mailer tape to decorate or re-seal parcels. Our tissue paper can also be kept and re-used for gifting (it was designed to do just that!).
MATERIALS
Recycled
Recycled packaging is made from previously used materials such as paper and cardboard, and can be put back into circulation again after usage, prolonging the lifespan without the need to new resources.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Recycling helps to conserve our natural resources by reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators. It also helps to prevent pollution associated with sourcing new raw materials. By using recycled materials, we make use of what already exists!
TAKING THE RIGHT ACTION
When bringing home new products, check that the packaging is recyclable, and be sure to add to the correct bins to avoid the waste of resources required to sort through mixed materials.
All our packaging have been made from recycled materials. This gives them a bit of history, knowing that they were something else before they came to our doors!
PROCESS
Lower Carbon Footprint
Carbon footprint refers to the amount of greenhouse gases we generate from everyday practices such as driving, consumption, and use of energy to manufacture and produce products.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
As part of our mission to be an eco-friendly brand, we selected suppliers and manufacturers based locally, and/or with a low carbon footprint in the way they source and produce their products. This includes working with suppliers that use renewable energy resources along with materials that ares compostable and/or recyclable.
TAKING THE RIGHT ACTION
By working with brands that have the same values, we’re able to help support and promote a better way of consuming, one that is ethical and sustainable, with a focus on long-lasting and high quality results.
Our mailer boxes have been produced with renewable energy and our art prints are printed using high-longevity inks for colour that lasts!
