Our Story
Welcome, I’m Rita
Studio founder & LEAD ARTIST
The idea for Speckls of Light was created in February 2021 as a way to provide people with art prints that bring them joy, and are made from environmentally friendly materials.
Sol (short for Speckls of Light), means ‘sun’ in Spanish and stands for positive, meaningful change in the world. It was born from the desire to speckle (see what I did there) some goodness into the world.
Currently I work from my home studio in South London where I create all of my art pieces, original and print. When I’m not in the studio I am usually volunteering at different organisations that try to help make art more accessible for everyone.
I’m inspired by colour and always start my paintings with a selected palette. Interiors, books and flowers are my most visited subjects but I’m always looking for something unique to add to my art.
Speckls of Light represents the positivity I feel about the world. I believe that given the option everyone would love to make more conscious choices in their lives and with our brand you don’t need to think.
By purchasing art prints from my small business you’re supporting a brand that isn’t just about profits. I believe in protecting our environment and giving back to our community which is why 20% of our profit goes to various charities.
Our Process
INSPIRED BY YOU
Our inspiration for our art prints come from many places, but most importantly, they come from the world around us.
Our art prints are inspired by you, and designed for a better planet and community.
DESIGNED IN LONDON
We design our prints at our small studio in London, printing on recycled or bamboo paper, with high longevity inks to make sure that your prints last. We select the paper material to match the style of the artwork for the best results.
conscious packaging
We invest our time in making sure we find the most eco-friendly solutions for packaging, that are great for the planet and look beautiful on arrival. That means zero plastic packaging.
RECYCLE OR UPCYCLE
All our packaging can be recycled together, including stickers, boxes, and tissue paper. As we’ve designed this packaging to look as stunning as possible, you can also keep and reuse the materials for gifting.
